Martiniano Glove Shoe: A Practical Guide to Fit, Sizing and Care
Minimalist leather shoes that fit like a glove have been a staple accessory for many seasons and yet the original version by Martiniano is still the gold standard. We continue to be drawn by the stripped down, minimalist elegance. There is really nothing to hide behind – the quality is very high, they are extremely comfortable and they look amazing both dressed up and dressed down. Here are some pro tips to better help inform your purchase.
FIT
While sizing runs true we recommend skewing smaller if you are between sizes. The glove shoe is called the glove shoe for a reason. It should not feel overly tight, but it is meant to fit snug and hug your foot like a glove.
SIZING
Martiniano shoes run true to size measured in European sizing.
US size 6 = 36 in Martiniano
US size 7 = 37 in Martiniano
US size 8 = 38 in Martiniano
US size 9 = 39 in Martiniano
US size 10 = 40 in Martiniano
US size 11 = 41 in Martiniano
SOLE
We strongly suggest to have a thin rubber sole added to your shoes. It’s as simple and relatively inexpensive add-on which will greatly extend the life and wear of the shoe. In Williamsburg we go to North 11th shoe repair in Williamsburg (if you dont want your shoes polished, tell them). In midtown, Dino’s Shoe repair near Columbus Circle does very good work.
