Desiree Klein: Complex Simplicity
Desiree Klein is a new designer who recently relocated from Berlin to Los Angeles. The inspiration for her eponymous collection is still heavily influenced by the designer's time in Berlin, while the production has been moved to Los Angeles. The SS17 collection is the first one to introduce bright colors. The pieces are structurally complex, yet somehow easy to wear.
All Desiree Klein styles are typically convertible in some way - hidden drawstrings and ties create unexpected ruffles, boxy shapes turn into dramatically cinched fits, a seemingly simple tank top morphs into a statement piece. The collection also employs the use of oversize bows in a way that's playful, yet still sophisticated.
