Gray Matters: Architectural Heels, Intelligent Design
The new NYC-based brand Gray Matters makes refined, thoughtfully designed shoes that enhance the character of women who wear them. The Italian-born designer, Silvia Avanzi, works with high-end artisans in Italy using custom-made lasts. Her unconventional and modern design elements make the collection truly unique.
SS17 introduces the Mildred Egg Shoe, which features a solid wooden egg shaped heel. Silvia describes her inspiration for the design, “to speak about confidence — a woman who’s so strong and powerful, and who can balance atop the most delicate thing you can think of.”
